The International Conference on the Ecology and Management of Alien Plant Invasions (EMAPI) is a long-running global meeting dedicated to advancing the science and management of plant invasions. Established in 1992, EMAPI brings together researchers, practitioners, land managers, policymakers, and students from around the world to share new discoveries, exchange ideas, and develop practical approaches to understanding and managing alien plants. The conferences are known for connecting fundamental ecological research with real-world conservation and management challenges, while fostering an inclusive and collaborative international community. Through scientific presentations, workshops, field excursions, and informal discussion, EMAPI provides a unique forum for strengthening global networks and shaping the future of plant invasion science.
There have been 17 EMAPI biannual conferences held in locations all over the world featuring 63 keynote addresses, hundreds of contributed talks and posters, and thousands of participants. The EMAPI meetings offer an opportunity to meet and connect with a very international group plant invasion researchers and managers in an intimate environment (100-300 participants), to hear from the top researchers globally, and hear about on-the-ground work in hosting locations.
